The Harrodsburg Historical Society’s 25th Anniversary of the Christmas Holiday Homes is Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 1:00-7:00. The Historical Society also opens a Tea Room in their headquarters, located in historic Morgan Row at 220 South Chiles Street, Harrodsburg on Friday and Saturday. Although not included as one of the paid tour sites, Morgan Row is a jewel worth visiting as it is reputed to be the oldest row house west of the Allegheny Mountains. It was the town’s most impressive tavern built by Squire Joseph Morgan for whom it is named. Tour tickets may be purchased there as well as your lunch or dinner. A menu of homemade sandwiches, soups, beverages, and desserts is offered. Lunch at the Tea Room is from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, Dec. 2nd and on the day of the tour Saturday, Dec. 3rd from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Homes Tour tickets are $15, Seniors and Groups of 20 or more $11.
This year’s tour features churches and homes throughout Mercer County. The richness of the scenic landscape, the homes and their histories are a picture of inhabitants who call Harrodsburg and Mercer County home.
